No new news as of right now. However, I have potentially ruined my phone, which could be annoying during travel tomorrow. I was "showering" this evening (and by that I mean I dumped a gallon of distilled water over my head and used some bathgel to suds up my hair), and as I was leaning over the shower stall, my phone fell out of my pocket. Well, I didn't notice and I continued to dump water for a while. I'm trying to dry it out as much as possible, but it is having progressively less function each time I try to turn it on. The other residents have told me to stop bothering it, so I'll try again in the morning.
I guess if all I lose in this disaster is a phone, that's not too bad.

Going to miss you, but you need a break. Hope you get lots of rest! Please blog when you return to Galveston and let us know how you fared and what you find.
If you want to try and save your phone, then turn it off, remove the battery, and simply let it completely dry out for as long as possible before turning it back on. Good luck and thanks for keeping the rest of the world informed.
You could also try dumping rubbing alcohol over it to make the water evaporate more quickly. (I haven't tried this myself, but I am a PhD student in CS and my geeky friends tell me it works.)
Maybe you needed a new phone anyway. I have also heard you remove the battery and let it dry out. See you soon!
My hubby dropped his phone...I'm talking completely submerged it..in the TOILET... we let it sit in a bowl of dry rice overnight, and it soaked up all of the water. Works just fine! Maybe if you can get your hands on some rice....
